David Kendlbacher is a digital creative, filmmaker and photographer based in Innsbruck / Salzburg.
From a young age he was influenced by skateboarding and hip-hop which developed his style in filmmaking.
He often focuses on heavy editorial manipulation that feels natural. He takes pride in ensuring technical perfection and beauty in harmonious balance, which is clear in his work.
Being an outsider at school, entering the adult world seemed like a day of fog that would never end. No perspectives visible. Skateboarding brought all the missing links: freedom, fun, friends, adventures… and gave him clarity and direction.
“Mom, dad, I want to make skateboard videos”.
Since then, he has been traveling the globe, meeting interesting and creative people, and being exposed to new cultures and arts of all kinds, which he considers to be the beginning of his real education. The "Do It Yourself" mentality naturally took hold, and the process of repeatedly failing and trying new tricks served as the ideal teacher for instilling a sense of perseverance and heroic effort. His passion for creating images gradually evolved and transitioned from moving pictures to still images, over a course of the last years.
